Texas Toast

Ingredients:

Thick-sliced bread (white or whole wheat)
Butter or garlic butter spread
Garlic powder (optional)
Parsley flakes (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to broil or grill mode. If you don’t have an oven, you can use a stovetop griddle or a skillet on medium-high heat.

Take the slices of bread and spread a generous amount of butter on one side of each slice. If desired, you can mix garlic powder with the butter or use a garlic butter spread for added flavor.

Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of garlic powder and parsley flakes over the buttered side of the bread for extra taste and visual appeal.

Place the buttered bread slices on a baking sheet or directly on the oven rack, buttered side up. If using a stovetop griddle or skillet, place the slices buttered side down on the heated surface.

Toast the bread in the oven or on the stovetop for a few minutes until it turns golden brown and crispy. Keep a close eye on the toast to prevent it from burning.

Once the first side is toasted, carefully flip the bread slices over using tongs or a spatula. Toast the other side until it is golden brown and crispy as well.

Remove the Texas Toast from the oven or stovetop and let it cool for a minute or two before serving.

Texas Toast is best enjoyed warm and can be served as a side with dishes like steaks, burgers, soups, or salads. It can also be used to make delicious sandwiches or served with spreads, such as garlic butter, cheese, or jams. The thickness and buttery flavor of Texas Toast make it a tasty and satisfying choice for bread lovers.
