Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups hot water

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
Add in the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Fold in the chopped pecans and pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar and hot water until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Pour the brown sugar mixture over the batter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the cake layer.
