Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked banana bread! This recipe takes that classic flavor to the next level with a chocolatey twist. Soft and chewy banana bars, studded with rich chocolate chips – you won’t be able to resist a second (or third!) helping.
3 ripe bananas
1/3 cup melted butter
1 tsp baking soda
Pinch of salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
Mash the bananas in a large bowl.
Add the melted butter, baking soda, and salt to the bowl and stir until well combined.
Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
Add the flour and stir until just combined (don’t overmix!).
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top with a spatula.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
